An active cattle ranch for many years, the 3,285-acre site  preserves the largest stand of scrub in St. Lucie County.  Located off State Road 70 at Bluefield Road, there are more than 20 miles of hiking, mountain bike and horse trails,  an elevated wildlife observation deck, wildlife blind, primitive hike-in camping and primitive horseback camping.

Trails: 20 miles of hiking, mountain bike and horse trails.
Habitat: Much of the site is an improved pasture. The largest amount of protected scrub in the County is found here, along with Bay-gall swamps, pine flatwoods, scrubby flatwoods and prairie hammock.
Commonly seen wildlife: Hog, turkey, alligator, quail, red-shoulder hawk, bald eagle, swallow-tailed kite, sandhill crane, and meadowlark.

In the late 1930's the Iglehart's purchased 36 square miles from the Hazellief's.  They used the ranch primarily as a hunting retreat for the family and their friends, and was a well known quail hunting area. 

• An airstrip was built where the current entrance road lies, enabling the "rich and famous" to visit the ranch. 
• Stewart Iglehart was recognized throughout the United States as an accomplished polo player.
• An old silo on the site was destroyed during Hurricane Jeanne.  It will be restored into a small nature center, identifying the history of the property.  The old cattle pens remain.
• Several "points of interest" are located throughout the Preserve.
