The purpose of the EMS Advisory Council is to review and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding applications of Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CON) to provide life support services and other matters related to the provision of such services in the County.
Created ByPursuant to Section 401.25, Florida Statutes, the EMS Advisory Council was created by Resolution No. 88-336, Ordinance No. 96-04 and amended by Ordinance No. 08-011.
The By-Laws of the Advisory Council provide that five members shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. In addition, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute and St. Lucie Medical Center each appoint one representative for a total of seven members.
The members terms will run concurrent with their appointing Commissioners.

Meetings are held as needed at St. Lucie County Public Safety, 15305 West Midway Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34945.
