Citizens Advisory Task Force Meeting

St. Lucie County will conduct a meeting of the Citizens Advisory Task Force (CATF) on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the St. Lucie County Community Services office located at 437 N. 7th Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34950. This meeting is intended to discuss possible initiatives to be undertaken and discuss the proposed CDBG Application for the FFY 2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities program.

All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard.  Written comments received in advance of the meeting will also be heard. Written comments may be submitted to the address listed above or to comm_info@stlucieco.org.

 NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

St. Lucie County will hold a 15 day Public Comment period from December 3, 2016 to December 17, 2016 for the proposed St. Lucie County HOME Consortium Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER). The proposed CAPER must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by December 30, 2016.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY INVITES ELIGIBLE LAKEWOOD PARK HOMEOWNERS TO APPLY FOR HOUSING REHABILITATION ASSISTANCE

St. Lucie County has been awarded funding in the amount of $45,287 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) and is seeking Lakewood Park homeowners in need of minor housing repairs. This program is designed to perform limited general home repairs and improvements for low and very low income homeowners. Applicants will be ranked for assistance based on a first-qualified, first-complete basis with the priority given to special needs and very low income households. Manufactured housing is not eligible. Eligible repairs include, but are not limited to the following:

•  Installation and/or repair of sanitary water and waste disposal systems, together with related plumbing and fixtures, which will meet local health department requirements;

•  Repair or replacement of the heating system;

•  Electrical wiring repair or replacement;

•  Replacement of severely deteriorated siding, porches or stoops;

•  Alterations of the units interior or exterior to provide greater accessibility for any handicapped person.

Applications will be available for pick up at the St. Lucie County Community Services Office or online at www.slchousing.org beginning Thursday November 10, 2016. Applications will only be accepted beginning 8:00 AM on Monday December 12, 2016 through 4:30 PM on Friday December 16, 2016 and may be mailed or hand delivered to St. Lucie County Community Services, Attention: Housing Division, 437 N. 7th Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
