St Lucie County has received the FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT SATEMENT (EIS) from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Southeast Market Pipeline Project. A portion of the document containing the CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS drawn from the environmental analysis has been uploaded for your review. St Lucie County has received the DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT SATEMENT (EIS) from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Southeast Market Pipeline Project.
The Southeast Market Pipelines Project includes the Florida Southeast Connection pipeline through western St. Lucie County. Consistent with the project timeline found on this page, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has scheduled a series of scoping meetings to receive public input on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), including five meetings in Florida. Two of those meetings will be near the Florida Southeast Connection proposed corridor (See link for full schedule of meetings).
The scoping meeting being held nearest to St. Lucie County is set for MONDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2015, 6:00 PM, Indian River State College, Williamson Conference Center Auditorium, 2229 Northwest 9th Avenue, Okeechobee, Florida 34972 (Click Here for Directions).
Public Comment will also be collected electronically or in writing and must be submitted by October 26, 2015. For directions on how to submit public comments, download the draft EIS from FERC: http://elibrary.ferc.gov/, search Docket NumberCP14-554-000 for the FSC Project.

Florida Southeast Connection is hosting several public meetings on a proposed natural gas pipeline, which is slated to pass through St. Lucie County. The meeting will take place Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds, 15601 W. Midway Rd. For more details on the project, click here.
Florida Southeast Connection, a subsidiary of FPL's parent company, NextEra Energy, Inc., is proposing to construct a new natural gas pipeline through parts of St. Lucie County. The new natural gas pipeline called the Florida Southeast Connection will be part of a pipeline system intended to connect with the two major interstate natural gas pipeline systems in Central Florida (Gulfstream Natural Gas System & Florida Gas Transmission). The path of the pipeline is proposed to travel through the far southwestern portion of St. Lucie County. This Aerial Map shows the proposed St. Lucie County Connection.
The pipeline is needed to transport natural gas from central to southeast Florida to serve the growing needs of Floridians and to improve the region's natural gas transportation diversity and reliability.
