Port St. Lucie has been one of Florida's fastest growing cities, with a 133 percent population increase between 2000 and 2007. In 2004, Port St. Lucie also ranked as the 2nd-safest city in Florida and the 24th safest city in the United States in a national study making it an even safer business decision.
Fort Pierce
Fort Pierce is one of the oldest communities on the east coast of Florida. Incorporated in 1901, the city grew from 300 residents to over 39,365 (2006 Census) and encompasses over 20 square miles. Fort Pierce serves as a transportation hub for much of Florida's southeastern coast all the while maintaining and investing in its historic charm. Fort Pierce features a major intersection of the Florida Turnpike and I-95, rail lines, a seaport, an international general aviation airport and a Foreign Trade Zone. As such, it has become a key distribution point for the state and region.
