January 26, 2006 - St. Lucie County Commission Chambers Goes High Tech
Beginning earlier this week, the St. Lucie County Board of County Commission Chambers, located at 2300 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce, will be wireless internet access enabled. This free service is available to anyone with a wireless card on their PC or other device. The County Commissioners wanted to have this service available for members of the media, as well as the general public, in order for residents and visitors to be able to conduct business easier during Commission meetings. Some types of websites will be blocked, including games, gambling and explicit websites, however most internet e-mail accounts will be available. The service is offered for the convenience of the user and a basic user guide is available during Commission meetings.
