November 5, 2007 - Commissioner Smith Tackles Trash Nov. 15
St. Lucie County Commissioner Joe Smith was sworn into office in St. Lucie County three years ago. To commemorate that anniversary, he has decided to celebrate in a dirty way - by working for a day at the St. Lucie County Landfill. On Thursday, Nov. 15 at 9 a.m., Commissioner Smith will be tackling his constituents' trash. The commissioner will be working hard and getting dirty for several hours at the Landfill.
This isn't the first time Commissioner Smith has worked with a county crew. Last November, he commemorated two years in office by getting into a Parks and Recreation bucket truck and cutting down a dead tree with a chainsaw. He celebrated his first year in office by working with a crew from the Road and Bridge Department on a drainage project in Paradise Park.
