November 7, 2007 - SLC Launches New Web Site

St. Lucie County has launched a newly designed website to provide easier access to the two dozen departments that the Board of County Commissioners oversee.

After more than a year of updating and redesigning nearly 4,000 web pages, St. Lucie County's Information Technology Department launched the new site Nov. 1. The website can be accessed by using the existing URL www.stlucieco.gov.

''The county's old site had been in place for several years, and staff felt that it was time for a new look and feel that would better serve our residents and visitors,'' explained St. Lucie County Webmaster David Wood. ''We're trying to create a cohesive look and feel for all of the departments' web pages, while at the same time providing each department with the ability to easily update its information.''

St. Lucie County is using a new content management tool from RedDot Solutions, which gives county departments the capacity to make changes to their pages on a daily basis.

Due to the large number of web pages that were part of the old St. Lucie County site, some departments are being phased into the new design later this year.
