November 15, 2007 - Next SLC Master Gardener Program Starts Jan. 8
Do you like gardening? Do you have all the answers? Are you interested in horticulture? Would you like to help others with their horticulture questions? If you have an interest in improving your skills and knowledge and the desire to work with people, the Master Gardener program may be for you.The Master Gardener program and training is conducted by the University of Florida Cooperative Extension in St. Lucie County. The next training begins Jan. 8. Classes meet every Tuesday for a six-hour session for 12 consecutive weeks. The cost is $150, and interviews will be held in December. This training program provides gardeners with the opportunity to improve their horticultural knowledge and skills and then share their experience with the public through organized volunteer activities.
As a Master Gardener, you can help to educate and advise home gardeners in St. Lucie County in the care of house plants, landscapes and vegetables including insect and disease control.
Being a Master Gardener volunteer is fun, interesting and rewarding.
