Thursday, May 1, 2008 - Savannas Offers Evening Canoe Tours May 16

The Savannas Recreation Area off Midway Road presents ''The Savannas at Sunset Evening Canoe Tour'' on Friday, May 16 from 7 - 9 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity observe elusive, nocturnal wildlife in a safe environment as you take a guided canoe tour of the county-managed Savannas park. The cost to participate is $5 per person.

Located at 1400 E. Midway Road in Fort Pierce, the Savannas is a 550-acre park open seven days a week from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. for overnight camping, RVs, hiking, fishing, bird watching and kayak/canoe rentals.
