Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - Treasure Coast Genealogical Society Presents "Greenville of Old" Program at the Fort Pierce Library on May 20
The Treasure Coast Genealogical Society (TCGS) will present a program on old Greenville, S.C. at the Fort Pierce Library on Tuesday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m.Kathleen Browning, a member of the society, will offer information and photographs based on the "Greenville of Old" newspaper column written by Charles A. David in the 1920s. Born in 1853 in Cheraw, S.C., David came to Greenville at an early age and wrote about it at the time of the Civil War and later.
Browning has made a study of David's cartoons and his columns, both of which tell the story of Greenville's progress. She credits the study to her having started many years of family research.
The program is free and registration is not required.
