Thursday, May 29, 2008 - Library Announces June Nature Series with Capt. Chop Lege
The St. Lucie County Library System announces several programs with Captain and Audubon Warden Chop Legé as part of its Interactive Nature Series for the month of June.The series takes place on the second and fourth Thursday at 3 p.m. with a presentation at the Fort Pierce Branch Library followed by a ''walk and talk'' tour the following Friday at 1:30 p.m. on a county mosquito impoundment on South Hutchinson Island. Sponsored by the Marine Resources Council and the St. Lucie County Mosquito Control District, these programs are free and open to everyone.
- June 12: ''Birds of Florida'' - Capt. Legé will introduce you to hundreds of bird species and discuss how Florida is visited by an abundance of migrating and breeding birds.
- June 13: ''Walk and Talk'' tour at Vitolo Family Park, South Hutchinson Island.
- June 26: ''Manatee Search'' - Capt. Legé will teach you how to spot manatees and understand their place in the wild.
- June 27: ''Walk and Talk'' tour at Bear Point Sanctuary, South Hutchinson Island.
