Tuesday, June 3, 2008 - Young Eagles Offering Free Flights June 14 At SLC International Airport
The EAA Young Eagles will be offering free airplane rides for children and teenagers on Saturday, June 14 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the St Lucie County International Airport.Children ages 8-17 can participate in this free program. The ride will last roughly 15 minutes. There will be pre- and post-flight briefings for participants, lasting about 15 minutes each.
Interested participants can make reservations and register online at http://www.eaa908.org/ or by calling Kevin Griffin at (772) 489-7776 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
The EAA Young Eagles' free airplane rides are scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 14 from 7:30 a.m.- noon at the St. Lucie County International Airport, 3000 Curtis King Blvd., Fort Pierce (1 ½ miles west of US 1 on St. Lucie Blvd., Fort Pierce).
The national EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
Since 1992, more than 1.33 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through this international program. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by nearly 40,000 volunteer pilots.
