Thursday, June 5, 2008 - Fort Pierce Library Shows ''Batman Begins'' For Young Adults June 20

The Fort Pierce Branch Library invites young adults (ages 13-18) to visit the library on Friday, June 20 at 2 p.m. to watch the movie ''Batman Begins'' and enjoy popcorn and a drink.

In ''Batman Begins,'' the origins of the legendary Dark Knight are explored. In the wake of his parents' murders, disillusioned heir Bruce Wayne travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice. He returns to Gotham City and unleashes his alter ego, Batman, a masked crusader who uses strength, intellect and an array of high-tech weaponry to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

The film is rated PG-13 and runs 140 minutes. Directed by Christopher Nolan, ''Batman Begins'' stars Christian Bale, Michael Cain, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman.

The new Batman movie, ''The Dark Knight,'' will be in theatres on July 18.

Parents are welcome to stay to watch the film if space permits. The event is free and registration is not required. However, if the room approaches capacity, seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
