Friday, June 6, 2008 - Fort Pierce Library Hosts Workshop On How To Start A Small Business June 11
Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) will offer a workshop to the public on ''How To Start A Small Business'' on Wednesday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Branch Library. SCORE Counselor Tom Spear will facilitate the workshop.Come and learn about the fundamentals of business startup; preparing marketing and business plans; financing requirements and sources and credit score; business structure, taxation and other regulations; necessary permits, licenses and employment issues.
Spear has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. For 32 years, he held a variety of business and technical positions with Ford Motor Company Product Development and was an executive for 29 years. Spear has been an adjunct business instructor at Indian River Community College and is a counselor with the Small Business Development Center.
