Wednesday, June 25, 2008 - Libraries Announce July Nature Series with Capt. Chop

The St. Lucie County Library System announces the topics and dates for the Interactive Nature Series with Captain and Audubon Warden Chop Legé for the month of July.

Sponsored by the Marine Resources Council and the St. Lucie County Mosquito Control District, these monthly programs are free and open to everyone.

  • Wednesday, July 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch Library: ''Life on the Bayous and Lagoons'' - Capt. Legé will compare the nature and wildlife of his native state of Louisiana to Florida.
  • Thursday, July 10 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Branch Library: ''Lagoon 101'' - Capt. Legé will talk about the most diverse estuary in North America - the Indian River Lagoon and the large variety of wildlife that call it home.
  • Friday, July 11 at 1:30 p.m.: ''Walk and Talk'' tour at Vitolo Family Park, 3701 South Ocean Drive. Participants will need to meet the captain at the gates of the park, located on the west side of A1A on South Hutchinson Island.
