Thursday, June 30, 2011 - County Seeks Volunteers To Serve On FTZ Board

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners is currently seeking two volunteers to serve on the Central Florida Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Board of Directors. Applications are available online at http://www.stlucieco.gov/BOCC/meeting_minutes.htm (under Quick Links).

The FTZ Board of Directors consists of at least three non-paid members that make decisions regarding the County’s Foreign Trade Zone. St. Lucie County's FTZ No. 218 is located in four areas of the County consisting of a total of 1,588 acres. FTZs were created in the United States to provide special customs procedures to U.S. businesses engaged in international trade-related activities.
