Transit Public Design Workshop for Port St. Lucie

St. Lucie County’s Transit Division is hosting a Public Design Workshop on Thursday, July 14 at 7p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Community Center, located at 2195 SE Airoso Blvd., to gain public input on the redesign of an existing bus stop located across from Donald M. Cooper Municipal Complex and adjacent to the Port St. Lucie Community Center.

“We are excited to have this space transformed from a bus stop into a destination and high performing public space,” said St. Lucie County Transit Division Director Murriah Dekle, MPA. “We are adding amenities such as an air-conditioned building with public restrooms and covered outdoor seating to make visitors more comfortable while they wait for the bus. The Community Hub will also attract nearby residents with possible amenities such as outdoor exercise stations and shaded walking paths. We are excited that the Community Hub will go beyond just moving people.”

The workshop will include a presentation of two site design options as well as a video diary of comments received from project designers and stakeholders.

Both physical and virtual participation options have been planned for this Workshop. We want your feedback! If you are unable to attend this Public Workshop physically, please participate virtually by using the chat feature to ask questions or share your comments. The presenters have planned periods during the Workshop to interact with the virtual participants.
