Designed to maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, this class is limited to six to 10 students. Classes will be held Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students must bring a pocket mask, whistle and bathing suit.
Participants must be at least 15 years old and will need to demonstrate the ability to swim 300 yards continuously using each of the following strokes for at least 100 yards: Crawl, breaststroke and stroke of the participants’ choice for the remaining 100 yards; swim 20 yards following a feet-first dive into a minimum of seven feet of water to retrieve a 10-pound object and swim back 20 yards with the object and jump onto the pool deck within one minute and 40 seconds; and tread water for two minutes using only their legs.
The cost of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Review course is $80. Payment is due upon successful completion of the pre-course.
