Swoop into the Oxbow for a bat-tastic good time with local “batman” Ken Gioeli on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. for a special bat night hike. One quarter of all mammal species on earth are bats, yet they are often overlooked and misunderstood. Participants will learn the benefits of bats and about their unique behavioral adaptations. Gioeli is the local Natural Resources Agent with the St. Lucie County Cooperative Extension, and will utilize his supersonic bat biologist’s equipment while we search for bats on the trail. This Jr. Oxbow Explorers at Night program is designed for ages 7 and older; accompanied by an adult.
