The St. Lucie County Aquarium featuring the Smithsonian Exhibit and the Regional History Center invite families to a spook-tacular Halloween event on Friday, October 30 from 6:00-8:00pm. Both facilities will open for a special after-hours adventure that is free with the purchase of a joint admission ticket. The fun begins at the Aquarium, where families can search for Freaky Fishes in the darkened displays with special flashlights, then trick-or-treat through Museum Pointe Park, and finally explore Haunted History with a hands-on treasure hunt at the History Center.
Participants in this special, spooky event must purchase joint tickets at the Aquarium for entry to both facilities. Doors creak open at 6:00pm and costumed children ages 12 and under will receive trick-or-treat goodie bags at the Aquarium. Smithsonian education staff will be on-hand to distribute special flashlights and point out nocturnal animals that remain unseen during daylight hours.
After exploring the Aquarium, participants will take a short five-minute walk through the “spooky forest” in Museum Pointe Park with trick-or-treat stations along the way! Volunteers with the St. Lucie County Historical Society will greet visitors to the History Center where kids will enjoy a treasure hunt through the exhibits.
The Aquarium is located at 420 Seaway Drive on South Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce. Joint tickets for this special event can be purchased at the Aquarium for $7 for adults, $4 for children, and $5 for seniors (age 55+). Aquarium members can purchase tickets at discounted price of $5 for adults, $3 for children, and $4 for seniors.
