This workshop will teach you how to make your own Hypertufa creation and leave with several projects for yourself or to give as a gift. Hypertufa is an artificial stone material that is made of several different aggregates and mixed with Portland cement in order to create pots, planters, stepping stones and more. It is much lighter than cement, but can withstand the Florida climate. It is primarily used as garden art and is fairly easy and fun to make.
The cost is $20 and advanced registration is required, as space is limited. Sign up at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hypertufa-workshop-tickets-19554410769. For details contact Kate O’Neill, Education Outreach Coordinator for St. Lucie County Extension, at 772-462-1660 or kasmi@ufl.edu.
