Meandering along the half-mile trail through the floodplain forest, the trail winds its way past moss-covered large oaks and ancient slash pine trees to get a glimpse of a historic floodplain that runs alongside the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Up top, we see a retention pond in action with plants, bird life, and possible views of our favorite aquatic reptile!
