Designed for landscapers, private applicators, gardeners, homeowners, municipal maintenance personnel and spray technician, this workshop will educate participants on mealybugs and how to control them. Participants will learn about the Nipaecoccus viridis (NV), mealybug life cycle, the damage caused by these insects and ways to identify and distinguish it from other mealybug species. Staff will also be provided with information on the status of N. Viridis in Florida and its potential impact on Florida's agricultural industry. Finally, participants will learn about the best management practices for controlling mealybugs in general, such as cultural, mechanical, and chemical measures.
After completing this free workshop, participants will be eligible to choose three Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the six different categories listed below:
