Seasonality in Florida Hike

Come explore with the Environmental Resources Department through our award-winning guided nature program series.  

  • Saturday, Oct 19 - Seasonality in Florida Hike at Steven J. Fousek Preserve (9:00am-11:00am) - On this hike through the Preserve we will talk about climate and seasonality in Florida, and how vegetation responds to the changing seasons. We will talk about the rainy vs dry season, as well as the traditional four seasons. We will also address the known and potential impacts of climate change. Minimum age 10.

Kayak paddles are $20 per person with all equipment provided, reservations are required, and space is limited. The Guided Nature Program season runs from October  through June. There are various topics, locations, and distances all designed for different ages and abilities. There are more than 11,000 acres of protected land for you to discover.
