National Reptile Day Hike

Come explore with the Environmental Resources Department through our award-winning guided nature program series.

  • Sunday, Oct 20 - National Reptile Day Hike at Spruce Bluff Preserve (10:30am-12:30pm) - National Reptile Day is the perfect day for budding and long-time reptilian admirers to appreciate the role these animals play in Florida's ecosystem. We celebrate native reptiles by observing them around us, learning about them, and educating on reptile habitat loss, conservation programs, and the importance of keeping reptiles off the endangered list. This program allows us to learn about and celebrate reptiles — even from a distance. Minimum age 12.

Visit www.SLChikes.org for more information and to register. Nature hikes are FREE, reservations are required, and space is limited. Kayak paddles are $20 per person with all equipment provided, reservations are required, and space is limited. The Guided Nature Program season runs from October  through June. There are various topics, locations, and distances all designed for different ages and abilities. There are more than 11,000 acres of protected land for you to discover. We look forward to seeing you in the great outdoors!
