Mission: To assist the citizens of St. Lucie County toward self-sufficiency in a dignified and cost-effective manner.
Overview: The Human Services Division offers unique, targeted services to help St. Lucie County residents achieve self-sufficiency. The Human Services programs include:
- Family Self-Sufficiency Program
- GED Assistance
- Minor Auto Repair
- Obtaining ID & Birth Certificates
- Employment Supports
- Comprehensive Case Management
- Information and Referrals

Other Services include:
- Indigent cremations for unclaimed bodies
- Health Care Responsibility Act (HCRA)
Services are offered when funds are available.
Determining Eligibility
Only a caseworker can determine a household’s eligibility for services. Eligibility for assistance through Human Services is based on program and/or county requirements that include proof of residency and total household income.
Treasure Coast Community Action Agency
The Treasure Coast Community Action Agency is an advisory board that oversees the Community Services Block Grant and is committed to building self-sufficient individuals and families by providing services in response to challenges of diverse communities.
Community Needs Assessment
A community needs assessment identifies the strengths and resources available in the community to meet the needs of children, youth, and families. The assessment focuses on the capabilities of the community, including its citizens, agencies, and organizations.
