The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners invites you to attend the St. Lucie County Citizen’s Academy, an interactive civic and public information program aimed at giving residents an opportunity to learn more about their county government. The program will focus on how local government works, promote open communication and offer a clearer understanding of how employees are working to serve the public.

Department directors and county staff will lead unique and informative sessions designed to give citizens hands-on experience in County government operations. The free, six-session program will be held on Thursday evenings and two Saturday morning sessions at various locations throughout the county.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the various sessions located throughout the county. There will be an end of course graduation for all of participants who attended a minimum of five out of six classes.

To apply, please complete the online application. Applicants will be notified upon receipt of their application and all participants will receive confirmation of their program acceptance.  For questions or more information, contact Nadege Pierre at 772-462-1453 or pierren@stlucieco.org

Note: Each session involves considerable amounts of sitting and standing. The Saturday sessions will involve a lot of walking. Please indicate any requested accommodations by emailing pierren@stlucieco.org
