The Sunshine Kitchen located off Kings Highway in Fort Pierce, is a state-of-the-art food incubator where chefs, caters, food truck operators and more can hone their culinary skills.

This 10,000-square-foot facility provides year-round, 24-hour-a-day access for people to produce, package, and market food business items. For example, say you’ve got an amazing home-made mango salsa and you want to develop that into a marketable commodity. Instead of navigating the red tape of health and safety regulations and developing a sales strategy – the Sunshine Kitchen can be your one stop site to help you focus on creating, packaging, and marketing your product.

The facility provides all the resources you need to build and operate the business of your dreams, including the professionally-equipped, commercially-licensed, multi-station kitchen facilities for professional cooking and baking, and the flexibility to support a variety of needs, including private events, classes and bottling and packaging activities. The Sunshine Kitchen is partnering with staff members from the Indian River State College, as well as St. Lucie County Extension / University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) agents to provide training and classes.  

Fees

Membership Fee: (minimum requirement per month) is $160 per month, which gives members 8 hours of Kitchen time a month, plus taxes and platform fees.

Food Truck Annual Fee: $525 per year plus tax and platform fees (this includes access to fresh water, disposing of gray water, disposal of used oil, and food trash ONLY.) There is an application fee of $35.

Dry Storage: 1 Cage is $50 per month

Cold Storage (Client Provides Fridge)

  • Single door cooler/freezer: $40 per month
  • Double door cooler/freezer: $80 per month
  • Triple door cooler/freezer: $120 per month
