Donation of Books and Other Items

Donations of books and other collection items are being accepted at the Kilmer and Morningside branch libraries.

On behalf of the Friends of the St. Lucie County Library Association, Inc., the Kilmer and Morningside branch libraries will accept hardcover and paperback books and audiovisual materials if they are in good condition. Donations will be evaluated and, if appropriate, will be added to the collection or put in the Friends of the Library book sale. Proceeds from the book sales are used to supplement Library programs.

Items not accepted include encyclopedias, textbooks, damaged or mildewed books, magazines and VHS tapes.

Donated items may be dropped off at the Kilmer and Morningside branch libraries during regular hours. Locations, hours and contact information are available here. At this time, due to limited storage space, we're accepting a total of 20 items per donation. It's not necessary to call before delivering a donation, but enclosing multiple items in bags or boxes to make them easier to move will be much appreciated.

While donations of quality items are gratefully accepted, neither the Friends nor Library staff can be responsible for the valuation of a gift. We cannot appraise donated materials or indicate a value on the receipt. If desired, the donor may receive a Donation Receipt noting the number and type of materials donated.

The Friends of the St. Lucie County Library Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is organized to provide monetary and volunteer support to the St. Lucie County Library System.
