Submit your eco-art to be showcased at the Sustainable Arts Fair
within the St. Lucie Earth Day Festival!
As part of the Environmental Resources Department of St. Lucie County, Oxbow Eco-Center's goal is to educate residents on environmental issues, sustainability, and the natural environment. Art is an amazing educational tool! Art evokes emotions and can create positive change! Innovative art designed from materials destined for the trash or recycling brings awareness to the amount of waste we generate and can inspire others to be part of the solution.
Requirements of all 2024 submissions (to be used as reference - 2025 info coming soon!):
- 50% of materials used must be items headed to the landfill (or recycling facility), that have served their purpose and reached the end of their life.
- Design should represent the overall theme, "Speak for the Trees", include a sustainable message and use waste in an creative way. (It does not have to be Dr. Seuss themed!)
- Content must be family-friendly.
- Your application must include a list of ALL materials, a detailed construction plan, and a sketch of your design including estimated dimensions.
- Art must be delivered to the Oxbow-Eco Center no later than April 6th* to be included in the festival.
*Exception for wearable art - due at the time of the Festival - Art must be picked up no later than April 27th. Any abandoned pieces will be forfeited after this date.
