St. Lucie County’s Parks & Recreation Department is contracted with Brian and Cheryl Golgart of Flex Tennis to oversee tennis at Lawnwood Tennis Center on Virginia Ave.

The Golgarts bring decades of professional tennis experience to the complex which features 12 tennis courts, two of which are also pickleball courts. Flex Tennis provides the tennis programs for the County, including private and group lessons, as well as league play for youth and adults, and hosting sanctioned and unsanctioned tournaments as well as High School District playoffs. Brian, Director of Tennis, a USPTR Certified Tennis Professional, spent 20 years in Georgia playing and teaching tennis, where he met his wife, Cheryl - she loved tennis too!  He earned a state adult singles ranking of No. 19 and state men’s double’s ranking of No. 2 in Georgia.

Likewise, Cheryl is a seasoned tennis player from Georgia, where she played and captained for many years on the USTA, ATLA, K-Swiss and Flex Leagues. She is a 10 & Under Instructor and handles the administrative and marketing tasks for Flex Tennis.

The Golgarts moved to the Treasure Coast so that they could enjoy the game of tennis year round. Both have been teaching private lessons & clinics here for the past 5 years and look forward to overseeing tennis and pickleball at Lawnwood for many years to come.
