Swim Lesson Guidelines & Tips
Pool Closure/Weather Policy: In the event of pool closure due to weather or chemical imbalances, there are two potential make-up days per session. The decision to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to bad weather is made 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson. Once the decision to cancel has been made, a staff member will call the phone number on file. If more cancellations occur, a partial refund will be issued at the end of the session per extra day cancelled. Refunds will NOT be issued if you are unable to attend a makeup day.
COVID—19: If you or your child is unable to attend lessons due to illness or quarantine, please contact the pool to discuss your options with management.
Class Sizes: Parent/Child Classes has a ratio of one instructor to 8 children. Preschool classes has a ratio of one instructor to 5 students. Youth and Teen/Adult classes has a ratio of one instructor to 6 students.
Scholarships: Financial aid is available to those that demonstrate need. Proof of income must be presented to qualify. Acceptable documentation includes: 2022 tax return, proof of free or reduced lunches, or some form of government aid (WIC, SNAP, etc.). Eligibility is based on the following income guidelines:

- Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis and are open until all spots are fill or the session begins.
- To reserve your spot in a class, payment must be received in full.
- Online registration will close one hour prior to the start of class.
- If there are no registrations for a Parent/Child class or a Teen/Adult class 24 hours prior to the start of the session, the class for that session will close.
- Keep your receipt from your registration. It lists the dates and times of your child’s class.
- Please plan your schedule carefully and make sure children arrive to their class on time.
- There will be NO make-up lessons or partial refunds due to late arrivals or missed classes.
- If you are unable to make a session you paid for, please call the pool as soon as possible to discuss your options.
- Please bring your child to their designated area every day where they will be greeted by their instructor.
- Parents or guardians must remain in the aquatics facility during the entirety of the child’s lesson, participants may NOT be dropped off.
- To prevent distraction, please refrain from interacting with the children during the lesson.
- For safety reasons, please keep any children not in class away from the pool edge.
- If children are not potty-trained, they are required to wear a swim diaper. A limited number of swim diapers are available for sale at each of the facilities.
- All participants must wear proper swim attire or clean athletic-wear type clothing. Please no cotton, underwear, or jeans in the pool.
- It is always a good idea to wear sunscreen and other sun protection during class.
- Goggles are permitted in class, but they are not required. Children may be asked to remove goggles during some portions of the lesson.
- Water safety topics and skills are emphasized in an age appropriate manner throughout all age groups and levels. We want all students to learn how to be safe around the water, no matter their swimming skill level.
- Remember that every child will progress at their own pace. Please have a positive and encouraging outlook towards swim lessons and their performance.
