This information applies to all mobile and manufactured homeowners, contractors mobile and manufactured home dealers and installers. 

 A permit is required to set up and tie down a mobile and manufactured home or to replace a mobile or manufactured home. Subcontractors are required for the installation of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical services to supply the utilities and air conditioning. All accessory structures, such as carports, screen and glass rooms, utility sheds, aluminum roof-overs, or an addition, also require a building permit.

A permit may be required by the St. Lucie County Building and Code Regulations Department to repair or remodel a mobile or manufactured home. Please refer to MHS-24 from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Any repairs level 2 or higher are required to be permitted with signed and sealed engineered plans.
