St. Lucie County is partnered with the Florida Department of Health to operate a Special Needs Shelter for individuals who seek shelter from a disaster and need medical assistance. Registration is completed online by clicking here.

Special Needs pre-registration is strongly suggested! It is important to be in the system to maintain health records, receive important messages from the Public Safety Department, and ensure a smooth admittance to the shelter.

If a hard copy application is needed, one can be requested via email at special.needs@stlucieco.org or call the Public Safety Department at 772-462-8100 to have one mailed to you. Home Health Agencies must contact Public Safety by emailing special.needs@stlucieco.org to set up an agency account.

Special Needs clients will need to re-register each year as the registration website is wiped out annually as an effort to generate active client information.
