Right of Way Permits
The Engineering Division provides regulatory control in accordance with the land development code by issuance of the following Permits:
Mining Permit
If you are interested in performing mining activities, please click here to fill out the application. This permit is governed by SLC Land Development Code, Chapter VI, 6.06.00 and SLC Land Development Code, Chapter XI, 11.05.00.

Moving Permit
If you are interested in performing activities that warrant a moving permit, please click here to fill out the application. This permit is governed by SLC Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Article II.

Right of Way Permit: Communications
If you are interested in performing utility work involving communications within County Right of Way, please click here to fill out the application. Any installation of a utility that transmits data must be applied for through this permit. This includes the installation of fiber optic, micro wireless facilities, small wireless facilities, and any utility poles that must be installed to support these utilities. This permit is governed by SLC Code of Ordinances, Chapter 44 - Telecommunications.

Right of Way Permit: General
If you are interested in performing utility work within County Right of Way, please click here to fill out the application. Typically this permit is applicable to the installation of electric lines and power poles, gas lines, water and wastewater systems. Any installation of a utility that transmits data must be applied for through the Right of Way: Communications Permit above.
