  • Tuesday, July 7, 2015 - Sea Turtle Hatching Season Ramps Up: Remember Sea Turtle-Friendly Practices on St. Lucie County Beaches

    Threatened and endangered sea turtle hatchlings emerge at night in large numbers on St. Lucie County beaches throughout the summer. Residents are asked to remember to practice sea turtle-friendly practices on the beaches during the summer months when hatchlings emerge in largest numbers. Sea turtle nesting season in St. Lucie County is in effect from March 1 through Nov. 15.

  • Wednesday, July 8, 2015 - St. Lucie County to Submit Expert Analyses Highly Critical of All Aboard Florida Draft EIS

    At last night’s regularly scheduled board meeting, St. Lucie County Commissioners unanimously accepted a 500-plus page Critical Assessment addressing “serious deficiencies” in the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for All Aboard Florida’s proposed high-speed rail project from Miami to Orlando.

  • Teens Can Take Transit For Free This Summer

    St. Lucie County Community Transit and the Treasure Coast Connector will offer free rides during summer break (June 4 - Aug. 14) to any county resident under the age of 18 with a valid student ID or SLC library card. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
