This 300-acre site is an excellent example of historical small prairie hammocks that appeared in this part of the county. There are two wildlife blinds that overlook the wetlands frequented by Sandhill Cranes, Wood Storks, Great Blue Herons and other birds.

Additional Information Trails: A self-guiding interpretive trail leads site visitors through several hammocks identifying unusual tropical trees.
Habitat: Prairie Hammock consisting of Florida elm, sugarberry, live oak, laurel oak, cabbage palm, potato tree, stoppers and strangler fig surrounded by wetlands and improved pasture.
Commonly seen wildlife: Turkey, crested caracara, hog, swallowtail kite, deer, barred owl and quail
Historical Interest

Largest known Simpson Stopper in the United States is found on the site. The tree is 59 feet tall, with a circumference of 61 inches, and an average canopy of 48 feet.
