Planning
The Planning Division oversees current and long range planning functions within unincorporated St. Lucie County. This includes all site plan applications for development over 6,000 square feet, conditional use permits and zoning, text amendments to the Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan, and Future Land Use map amendments
The Planning Division coordinates with the other members of the Development Review Committee (DRC), which is composed of various public reviewing agencies such as Engineering, Public Works, Building & Code Regulations, Property Acquisitions, Utilities, School Board, Health Department, Fire District and the Sheriff’s Office. Through the DRC process, the Planning Division endeavors to support predictable land use planning patterns and aesthetically pleasing development, while achieving and maintaining the desired level of service expected by the patrons of St. Lucie County.
