Home MenuNorth Hutchinson Island Septic Removal Project
St. Lucie County is embarking on an important utilities project to protect public health and safeguard the environment in our county. The North Hutchison Island Septic Removal Project was initiated to improve the quality of life in our community by protecting the Indian River Lagoon through the removal of pollutants into the lagoon and increasing property values of the benefited areas on North Hutchinson Island.
Central sewer lines and other needed infrastructure will replace individual septic systems in the four remaining neighborhoods on North Hutchinson Island served by onsite septic systems. About 530 septic tanks will be replaced as part of the project including around 340 directly adjacent the Indian River Lagoon.
The map below shows the project benefited areas. If you'd like a copy of the proposed plan, please click here to have a copy emailed to you.
