St. Lucie County Utilities (SLCU) is in compliance with the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). The new rule requires public water systems to inventory service lines and replace lead lines in its system.  During this process As-Built records were reviewed to determine service line materials. Visual inspections performed at individual meter boxes indicate there are no lead service lines or lead status unknown service lines requiring replacement within the St. Lucie County Utilities service territory. Galvanized lines discovered during the inventory process were replaced with polyethylene/PVC pipes although not required.

While St. Lucie County Utilities strives to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information provided, it does not guarantee the absence of lead or copper in individual properties’ plumbing systems. St. Lucie County Utilities responsibility is limited to the water supply system up to the service connection; any plumbing materials within residences or buildings, including those with well systems, are outside of SLCU control and are not covered by this compliance statement. It is recommended that property owners and residents inspect their home plumbing or perform a water quality test to detect potential lead or copper contamination. Service line inventory data is available upon request by contacting SLCU Customer Service Department at 772-462-1150, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  or emailing Util@stlucieco.org
